BiasHELP believes that education is an important tool for combating discrimination, harassment, violence and technobullying/cyberbullying. The reduction of hate, prejudice and intolerance helps reduce intergroup tensions, thereby decreasing and preventing incidents of conflict and violence.
Our team of skilled educators conducts specially-tailored trainings in schools, corporate and business settings, government agencies, non-profit agencies, and faith-based organizations. Our professional staff is reflective of the diverse communities we serve and our programs address bias, discrimination, violence, bullying and technobullying against all populations. We talk about the tough issues: racism; anti-Semitism; homophobia; and other forms of discrimination, including sexual harassment. Our workshops also address bullying, technobullying, youth violence and emergent issues such as immigration in a thoughtful and direct way.
Using lectures, interactive exercises, and multimedia presentations, we grab attention and create a lasting impression. We don’t shy away from some topics because they’re too controversial; instead we propose new ways of talking and thinking about the tough issues as we work to enhance understanding and acceptance.

- BiasHELP is committed to reducing the incidences of bullying, cyberbullying and technobullying in Long Island schools and communities. After doing extensive research we have identified the Olweus Bullying Prevention Program as the foremost bullying prevention program available. It is a whole school program that has been proven to prevent or reduce bullying throughout a school setting. Our staff have become the only certified Olweus trainers on Long Island. As certified trainers we are prepared to provide overview presentations of the program, train those chosen to be on your school’s Bullying Prevention Committee, and assist with your committee’s training of other staff members.

- The furtherance of innovative community and school-based educational initiatives is central to BiasHELP’s purpose, and we’ve prioritized interventions for young people given the rise in bullying, cyberbullying and technobullying. BiasHELP offers a variety of educational programs, workshops and anti-violence interventions. Our proprietary Violence Prevention program is delivered in more than 200 classrooms annually to more than 10,000 young people on Long Island.

- Our violence intervention program will provide 4 intervention sessions (at a cost). BiasHELP will collaborate with the probation department to assist in reducing the recidivism rate by giving the perpetrators an opportunity to change bias/violent and hate crimes behavior.

- Our nationally distributed and widely acclaimed Mirror Images DVD series presents a long overdue alternative to traditional diversity education tools that often leave participants feeling guilty, resentful or bored. The 5-part boxed set addresses issues of race, religion, ethnicity and sexual orientation through the eyes of men and women ages 12-80. Individuals featured in the series reflect on the challenges they have encountered as minorities, the successes they have enjoyed and their predictions for America's increasingly diverse future. Their stories help others better understand issues in the Black, Hispanic, Jewish and lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) communities and put a human face on some of our time's most contentious debates. The response to "Mirror Images" continues to be phenomenal, with dozens of companies, college campuses, healthcare facilities and non-profits nationwide adopting the series as the centerpiece of their diversity training and cultural competence activities.

- Diversity Done Right is a consulting firm specializing in diversity training and professional development for organizations and companies of all sizes. As a project of the non-profit Long Island Network of Community Services, Inc., Diversity Done Right offers programs that are participant-centered, unifying, experiential and designed for maximum impact with measurable results. Diversity Done Right has the exclusive right to conduct training using the Mirror Images video series - the landmark diversity DVD package released in 2005. Diversity Done Right workshops strengthen workplace diversity, enhance employee productivity, reduce litigation risks, enhance cultural competence, and help to increase scoring on grant applications. The program, in unison with the above-mentioned Mirror Images DVD, is promoted to Human Resource Professionals, Trainers and Staff, Development Officers, Supervisors/Managers and Educators.

- BiasHELP conducts specially-tailored violence prevention workshops and trainings for teachers, school administrators and human service professionals on a wide variety of topics (including bullying, cyberbullying/technobullying, gangs, relational aggression, and classroom violence) as well as ongoing technical assistance related to managing differences, conflict resolution, crisis management, and policy formulation.
- A VOICE which stands for Against Violence and Oppression in Communities Everywhere proposes to foster racial healing by making an impact among vulnerable children and their families by providing school anti-bias educational sessions, a multi-session family program called Family Voices, technical assistance and trainings for youth-serving agencies, and community events.
Since our inception in 1997, BiasHELP has steadily enhanced and expanded its educational repertoire to go beyond hate crime prevention. Today, we help others develop strategies, tools, and commitment to address the complex underlying contributors to violence and discrimination in all its forms. We have become a central resource for organizations and communities seeking healing in the wake of violence and we actively partner with those who want to avoid violence before it occurs.
